4 Easy Egg Recipes To Make For Kids This Halloween October 28, 2019
Getting the little ones to eat a balanced breakfast before trick-or-treating is about to get way easier thanks to these scary good and super easy egg recipes.
1. Pumpkin Deviled Eggs
A sprinkle of paprika, a sliver of chive, and a big imagination is all you need to transform ordinary deviled eggs into pumpkins.
Ingredients:
- 6 Hard-Boiled Eggs
- 4 Tablespoons (1/4 Cup) Mayo
- 2 Tablespoons Mustard
- 1 Teaspoon Paprika
- Dash Salt and Pepper
- Chives, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
Instructions:
- Cut boiled eggs in half lengthwise and remove yolks.
- Mash yolks with mayo, mustard, and paprika. Season with salt and pepper.
- Put yolk filling in a plastic bag and make a small cut in the corner.
- Fill each egg white with yolk mixture. Sprinkle with additional paprika and carefully add a chive to serve as the pumpkin’s stem.
2. Eyeball Eggs
You’ll never “look” at a sunny-side up egg the same way again.
Ingredients:
- 2 Eggs
- Ketchup
- Olive Rounds
Instructions:
- Cook eggs sunny-side up in a nonstick or cast iron skillet until whites are set.
- Put ketchup in a plastic bag and make a small cut in the corner. Use this to create the eye (yolk)’s veins.
- Place an olive round in the center of the yolk to serve as the eyeball.
3. Spider Eggs
Hurry up and eat ’em before they crawl off the plate!
Ingredients:
- 2 Eggs
- Ketchup
- Olive Rounds
Instructions:
- Cook eggs sunny-side up in a nonstick or cast iron skillet until whites are set.
- Put ketchup in a plastic bag and make a small cut in the corner. Use this to create the spider’s legs.
- Place two olive rounds to serve as the spider’s eyes (they should be bordering the yolk and the egg white).
4. Mummy Toast
If you couldn’t tell, there’s an over-easy egg hidden underneath the mummy’s layers. We opted for strawberry or raspberry jam, but feel free to jazz things up with ketchup if your little zombies prefer that.
Ingredients:
- 2 Slices Toast
- Strawberry or Raspberry Jam
- 2 Eggs
- Olive Rounds
- Cheese, cut into thin strips
Instructions:
- Carefully crack eggs into a nonstick or cast iron skillet. Cook until egg whites are set but yolk is not yet hard. Use a spatula to flip and cook until desired doneness.
- While eggs are cooking, spread jam onto toast.
- Top with over-easy eggs, then layer strips of cheese across to make it look like a mummy.
- Place olive rounds at the top to serve as the eyes (one eye should be partially underneath the cheese so it’s extra creepy!).
