Chic Food: Salad Nicoise May 30, 2014
The Nicoise Salad is a hot topic at the HelloFresh office. We all have different opinions of what makes a Nicoise Salad a real Nicoise. Hard-boiled eggs vs. no eggs, fresh tuna vs. canned tuna, the list goes on. While there are a hundred different variations, the classic Nicoise originates from Nice in the South of France and is a simple salad with some combination of the salty and fresh flavors of the Mediterranean: tuna, green beans, potatoes, tomatoes, hard-boiled eggs, olives, or anchovies.

Our take features fresh seared tuna, tomatoes, potatoes, green beans, and red onion over a bed of mixed greens in a tangy chickpea-lemon vinaigrette. Our chefs have even created a vegetarian version, so our veggie-loving friends don’t have to miss on this favorite. We replace tuna with roasted sweet potatoes, which brings a nice contrast to the tanginess of the onions and lemon vinaigrette.
