Who doesn’t love a short work week, Thanksgiving food and some chocolate? Lucky for you, you can have all three with the holiday and HelloFresh delivery coming up!

This week, you will be receiving our mouthwatering Chocomize Beef Mole, Crisped Up Chicken Breast, Pork Chops and Fennel Salad, Undercover Ratatouille and/or Virtuous Vegetarian Curry. In these recipes, you will find several ingredients rich with antioxidants, specifically chocolate, carrots and cashews.

Many of you may have heard of antioxidants before but still aren’t quite sure what they are. Antioxidants are substances in food which prevent damage to your body’s cells and tissues caused by free radicals. It is crucial to keep free radicals in check, as they may contribute to aging, cancer and other chronic diseases.

If you’ve felt guilty about eating that extra piece of chocolate, no need to worry. Dark chocolate, in particular, is a potent antioxidant and can help lower high blood pressure. Milk and white chocolate, however, aren’t considered antioxidants so go for the dark!

Carrots are not only packed with vitamin A (essential for vision and immune system function) but also beta-carotene, which is a strong antioxidant that can prevent cancer. If you’re always in a rush before work, juice some carrots as a healthy breakfast option.

Lastly, cashews are high in both copper and antioxidants. These nuts help the body utilize iron, eliminate free radicals and develop bone and connective tissue. With so many functions, you can’t go wrong by making this your go-to office snack!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and look out for Friday’s post on healthy Black Friday shopping and eating tips!
