Pork?! No way, not our family’s fav!

Crystal Rogers says:

Will you be coming out with a low carb low fat menu? Need to loose weight and lower cholesterol and would be so much easier if the meals were created for me.

Schraeder House says:

Our entire family listed NO PORK on their boxes. We were surprised that so many meals were pork on our choices offered. We still would like the option of choosing a veggie meal or two. Hmmm, maybe we’ll check out some other food box delivery offerings..

Jordan Schultz says:

Hi there– Jordan here, from our community team. You’ll need to select “pork-free” in your account settings or make meal choice each week to ensure you don’t receive pork. We’ll pass your feedback along regarding the veggie options.

Tina kirby says:

I still love family plan

Dawn tupper says:

Do you get to choose the recipes for the family plan like you can in the classic plan?

Jacqueline Parisi says:

YES! There’s now 5 quick and easy, nutritious, and delicious Family Plan meals to choose from every week. You can check out the menu here.

AKY says:

Wish family plan allowed for 6 serving meal; as kids grow and for families greater than 4, the amount of food is not enough in the four family plan; but appreciate the increased choices now on the menu each week.

Pam Brown says:

I am in my second week and love the program. My only ‘wish’ would be a meal plan for three. I am a working single mom that has a long to-do list and growing kids (9 and 11). The Family plan is too much food, but I’m afraid The Classic plan may require me to add to the recipes.

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Pam – we totally understand! As a suggestion – try getting the Family Plan and saving leftovers for your lunch the next day ๐Ÿ™‚

TAE says:

Is there an option to add 2 additional servings to the family plan = 6? Or combine a family plan and 2 person plan under 1 profile?

Jordan Schultz says:

Not at the moment, but that’s a great suggestion! We’ll pass that along.

MIchael says:

I also agree about a 5 or 6 person plan. I am looking at HelloFresh and a competitor and I have to go with them because my family has 5 and 4 will not be enough food. When this changes I will check you out!

Jordan Schultz says:

Thank you for the feedback, Michael! This is helpful for us to improve our product.

Tiffany S says:

I haven’t tried this yet, but we have a gluten and dairy allergy within our family. Are there options to fit this need?

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Hi Tiffany! HelloFresh has a variety of meal choices each week, some of which are gluten-free or dairy-free. When recipes are free of these allergens, they are labeled as such. We leave it to our customers to review the recipes each week and determine which ones best meet their dietary needs. But of course, our Registered Dietitians are always here to help!

Jessica says:

Sad I can’t try Hello Fresh with my family of 5:( I would get it if they offered dinner for 6.

Jordan Schultz says:

Sorry about that, Jessica! One option is to order a 4-person and a 2-person subscription running concurrently.

Warren says:

I did the quiz to see if classic or family plan was better. At the end, a veggie plan showed up. Is this the result of my quiz?

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Warren – yep! Based off how you answered the questions, we recommend the Veggie Plan for you. But this is just a suggestion! Feel free to choose whichever plan fits your lifestyle/diet best.

Danielle says:

Really wish they had options for bigger families. We have a family of 5 (growing kids) and would love to have the option for 5 or even 6 servings without having to add a whole new subscription.

Jordan Schultz says:

Thanks for that feedback, Danielle! We’ll pass it along to the culinary team.

Amanda Minton says:

Hi! I would really like to try you guys, but as a family of 5 I will have to wait till you get bigger serving meals.

Nancy says:

Received my first box. Love it love it. I cooked Parmesan-crusted tilapia. Looked just like the picture. It’s nice not to have to plan all my meals.

Jacqueline Parisi says:

YAY, Nancy! So happy to hear that. We’ve got some amazing recipes on the menu for the next few weeks, so stay tuned ๐Ÿ™‚

Karen Neihart says:

We received a Gift Card for Hello Fresh for Christmas from my granddaughter. She tried to help us pick out some meals. We need to have gluten free meals and we weren’t sure which ones were gluten free. We also did not find the site to be very user friendly, and as a result we have never used our gift card nor ordered any meals. Could you please provide us with a list of which meals are gluten free? Thank you.

Jordan Schultz says:

Hi Karen! We try to include one or two Gluten Free meals in each week’s menu. You must select from the specific week’s menu when you order your box. You can always view our upcoming choices here without a box: http://hellofr.sh/NextWeeksMenu

You’ll need to check out with a classic or family box before you can actually make meal choice, but if you already have an open subscription follow these steps to choose your meals:

-Sign on to HelloFresh.com and log in to your account, by clicking on “Login” in the top right corner.
-Click on “My Account” in the top right corner
-Click on “Your Meals” in the left-side menu
-If you like the 3, 4, or 5 highlighted meals (chef’s choice), nothing more needs to be done. If you’d like to change a meal for one of the others, deselect that option and then select whichever you’d like to replace it with.
-Don’t forget to click “Save”, after which you will receive a confirmation e-mail.

Meal choice can be made until 11:59pm EST, five days prior to delivery. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with!

Cindy says:

Thank goodness you reduced the number of pots and pans!

Heidi says:

We are so excited to be able to choose 3 out of the 5 meals now for our family plan. I want to thank you all at Hello Fresh for expanding the palette for my 4th and 5th grader over the last year! They love pork apple burgers, orzo, chorizo, and a ton of other ingredients they otherwise wouldn’t have tried. My daughter and I have so much fun cooking at night together! I tell other parents/friends all the time how much its changed out family life! We actually save money not running to the grocery store daily and actually enjoy eating leftovers! Bravo!

Jacqueline Parisi says:

AMAZING, Heidi!! We’re so happy to hear how much you and your kids love the variety of HelloFresh meals. Thanks for being part of the fresh family ๐Ÿ™‚

Maxine Giordano says:

I have been receiving Hello Fresh for quite a few months now and I have the dinner for 4 plan. There never seems to be enough vegetables given to cook – there is always plenty of starch, just wish they would add more vegetables for a family of 4. For instance, last week I was given only 2 zucchini (which were rather small) as our vegetable for 4 people. Thanks.

Jacqueline Parisi says:

So sorry to hear that, Maxine. We’re always looking to improve and will be sure to keep the veggie quantity in mind going forward.

Joan C says:

I am trying HelloFresh for the first time starting next week but I have been a long-time customer of one of your competitors. My only criticism of your plans, and plans of your competitors, is that you don’t give more options for number of servings for larger families. I’m not sure how the number four was determined as an ideal number of servings for families, but you should have more options here. My family size is 7. My husband and I have 5 kids so I have to make two of your meals to feed everyone. It would be really nice to have an option of 6 or 8 servings. Eight seems like it would be really simple since you’re just doubling everything. Please consider making this an option.

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Noted, Joan! Thank you SO much for the feedback – we read every comment that comes our way and always pass it along to the chefs.

Becca Charles says:

Wow. I paused my subscription but im resuming if it means ill be able to enjoy the beef noodles and family variety while only selecting the meal for two.

K Ferraro says:

A simpler two perso plan would be appreciated, too. Love the meals, but I’m not a kitchen foodie.

Vicki says:

Would love it if your recipes were a little less involved…..

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Vicki – you’re in luck! Our new Family Plan recipes are super quick and easy — they come together in around 30 minutes and require 2 pots/pans MAX (with a lot of one-pot meals as well).

Shannon Dukes says:

Would you please make an offering for 3 people instead of just 2 and 4? Many families like mine have one child out of the home and only one left so a 4 person set is too much while the 2 person set is not enough.

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Shannon- currently our Family Plan feeds 2 or 4 people, but we have lots of customers who get the 4 person plan and then pack the leftovers for lunch!

Wendy says:

Now that the kids are back to school and parents have to run around to get kids from sports, do you have any Crock Pot meals? This makes our lives so easy during sport season and the same old same old, gets boring!

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Wendy – we currently don’t have any crockpot recipes, but never say never! We’re constantly working to improve and will be sure to keep this in mind.

Meg says:

I would like to add to this that, yes, Crockpot meals would be so nice. And none of these recipes where you sear the meat, then caramelize the onions, then add the noodles 2 hours later, then add the whatever 2 hours later. I would like to just throw the ingredients in the crockpot and forget it. Thanks!

Tim Sigler says:

I was excited by your blog post about the revamped family meals. HOWEVER, when I switched and looked at the calories of the family meals, I was outraged. We try to eat healthy at my house. And when your post said it was parent approved nutrition, you must have meant parents who don’t mind their kids eating high calorie meals. So disappointing. Your classic meals have much better lower calorie choices available. Please reconsider options that include lower calorie meals.

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Tim – thank you for your feedback! We’re constantly re-testing recipes both internally and externally with a panel of families to improve our product based on valuable customer feedback, which we take very seriously. With additional recipe options in the Family Plan, we are offering a range of recipes to choose from every week in terms of nutrition and flavor.

Vivienne Williams says:

I need less red meat and more fish. I am almost a vegetarian.

Myron Toomey says:

Why not offer the simplified family meals in the two meal plan we now have.

Cindy says:

This is great news that you made the family plan kids favorites. What about your single person household. I would love a meal plan for one giving option of 3-5 different meals, no leftovers!!!!!!!

Jacqueline Parisi says:

We’re working on it, Cindy! But in the meantime, try packaging those leftovers for lunch the next day! ๐Ÿ™‚

Nancy says:

I am with you Cindy! As a single person I am doing three meals which serve 2 people each week. While I don’t mind bringing leftovers to the office for lunch, I’d like more variety with single serving menus.

Stacy Janicki says:

Thank you! I love hello fresh, but the meal prep and lack of weekly choices was sometimes a barrier. With 5 meals now to choose from, I won’t have to skip weeks as often!

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Less skipped weeks = more fun (and more YUM)!

Kaye McKleroy says:

I wish you would devise one pot/2pot simple quick meals for two people as well as families. I am getting a bit tired of all the pots/pans I have to use and the big clean-up.

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Kaye – we totally understand (trust us, we’ve been there!). I’ll be sure to pass this along to our chefs – they really appreciate the feedback.

Rhiannon Torres says:

I’d love to see an option to feed more people i.e. 4 kids and 2 adults. Right now we go with the Classic Plan because we can have the kids share the adult portion but that’s only going to work for so long.

lisa logel says:

Please add more pasta dishes to the family plan. I am vegetarian and my husband is not so I am not on the \veggie plan.

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Passing this along to our chefs, Lisa! Thanks so much for the feedback.

Carol says:

Will you need to start choosing 5 meals per week since we are currently getting 3 which is just right.

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Carol – nope! The only difference is that Family Box customers can now choose their meals, whereas previously they received 3 chef-picked meals.

Tina J. says:

How do the family meal portions compare to the classic-4 person meal? I like the idea behind the family meals (easy, fast, etc…) but i have older kids and the classic meal portions are perfect for us…

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Tina – the serving sizes are the same for Family and Classic meals!

Jamie Schapiro says:

This is good news but what about portion sizes? We are a family of five and we’ve struggled with portion sizes. Sometimes we can easily share a meal amongst all five of us and other times you can barely eat enough for three people. We are two adults and three kids between ages 7-11 so you would think a family plan for 3 kids and 2 adults would be enough. Any changes to portion sizes?

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Jamie – unfortunately, there won’t be a change to portion sizes. But we’re always looking to improve the product and will be sure to keep this in mind!

Michelle says:

I al ready love the dishes but I’m so excited over the 5 choices each week!

Jacqueline Parisi says:

We’re super excited as well! Meal choice is going to be GREAT.

Catherine says:

Love the family plan but would MUCH PREFER a singles plan.

Jackie says:

So glad to hear the relaunch news! I stopped my service due to many of the areas you have been working to innovate and you convinced me to give it another shot!

Jacqueline Parisi says:

WOHOOOOO Jackie! So happy to hear that ๐Ÿ™‚

Olin says:

Can we have a trial or promo discount? ๐Ÿ™‚

Tammy says:

This looks amazing. All the reasons we stopped ordering seem to be resolved. We’ll definitely try again. Thank you!

Jacqueline Parisi says:

This just made our day, Tammy! Welcome back to the HelloFresh family – we missed you!

Ann Condon says:

I wish you’d make this quicker and better adjustment for singles–even for 2–we can eat the same thing twice.

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Ann – noted! Thank you for your feedback. We take it seriously and will be sure to pass this along to our chefs.

Cheryl Troutt says:

I also hope that it is easier to choose your meals for the week. I dropped because I had too much trouble trying to find weekly options.

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Cheryl – it’s SUPER easy to choose your meals every week! Just click on My Deliveries. If you like the meals highlighted, nothing more needs to be done. However, if youโ€™d like to switch one meal for another, click Edit Menu. Select which meals youโ€™d like to see in your box (when a meal is selected, the words In Box will appear and the circle in the upper right-hand corner of the photo will have a check mark inside). Click Save. You will now see a small green rectangle with the words In Box in the lower left-hand corner of the recipe photo.

Joseph J. Riolo says:

I like what I see

Vicky Claborn says:

I was using Hello Fresh, but in the past year, my husband and I have had to drastically change our eating habits. He is a diabetic and therefore, carbohydrates and fat are a major concern. I have been diagnosed with chronic acid reflux, so I have to be mindful of trigger foods such as citrus, tomatoes, and spicy foods. Does your service provide enough healthy options every week such that with careful planning and ordering I could put together appropriate meals for my family?

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Vicky – transparency is super important to HelloFresh, and we make it our priority to provide as much nutrition information to our customers about every ingredient in every recipe. Because everyone has different tastes, allergies, and preferences, we leave it to our customers to review the ingredients and determine which recipes best meet their dietary needs. But of course we’re always here to help!

Lillian says:

Family menus are not an option since it is only the two of us.

Jacqueline Parisi says:

No worries, Lillian! Our 2-person Classic Plan is equally as delicious ๐Ÿ™‚

Tim says:

Hello,
I am currently signed up for the “Family Plan – 3 Meal”, but do not see an option to select which meal we would like for the following week? When/where can I go to choose what to cook for the family? This is an awesome option and looking forward to it.

Thank you for your time!

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Hi Tim! Go ahead and click on My Deliveries. If you like the meals highlighted, nothing more needs to be done. However, if you’d like to switch one meal for another, click Edit Menu. Select which meals you’d like to see in your box (when a meal is selected, the words In Box will appear and the circle in the upper right-hand corner of the photo will have a check mark inside). Click Save. You will now see a small green rectangle with the words In Box in the lower left-hand corner of the recipe photo.
Let us know if you’re still having trouble! We’re always happy to help.

Katie Lehto says:

I LOVE the concept of the family friendly box. Will there be vegetarian options in the family box? Your vegetarian box is delicious and I love it, but it’s not always kid-approved, two pot max, easy clean-up, I would LOVE to subscribe to a family-friendly vegetarian box.

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Katie – there aren’t vegetarian recipes in the family box at the moment. That being said, we’re always looking to improve the product and will definitely take this into consideration!

Katie says:

I originally signed up for the family plan because we are well, a family. I quickly realized this plan wouldn’t work because we are vegetarian. I am wondering if now, as the family plan has changed, there are some vegetarian options to choose from each week? I highly recommend this course OR tweaking the vegetarian meal plan to work for families better.

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Katie – noted! There aren’t vegetarian recipes in the Family Plan at the moment, but we’ll keep this in mind as we continue to grow and improve the product.

Dawn Bauer says:

I sure hope you are doing this new meals you mentioned in your recent news letter for the 2 meal plans also!! Not just the family plan. Love Hello Fresh!!

Marcia says:

Hope you plan on looking at your 2 person meals. Less pots would be nice. We had the thyme and honey pork chops and no taste plus arugula wasn’t fresh

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Marcia – we’re so sorry to hear that and take all feedback very seriously!

Vicki says:

So far I love Hello Fresh. I wish there were more meals to choose from and a weekly package. The only downside i see is no fruit. Otherwise i am very happy with my choices so far.

Alicia Gonsalves says:

Hi I’m new to Hello Fresh and my first meal arrives here on September 6th. I have the family plan. How do I know hat meal is coming? Can I choose the family meals?

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Hi Alicia – how exciting! Welcome to the HelloFresh family ๐Ÿ™‚ Yes, Family Plan customers can choose their meals from a selection of 5 quick and easy, kid-approved recipes. Here’s how:
1. Click on My Deliveries
2. If you like the meals highlighted, nothing more needs to be done. However, if you’d like to switch one meal for another, click Edit Menu
3. Select which meal you’d like to see in your box. When a meal is selected, the words In Box will appear and the circle in the upper right-hand corner of the photo will have a check mark inside.
4. Click save. You will now see a small green rectangle with the words In Box in the lower left-hand corner of the recipe photo.

Sandy says:

I absolutely love Hello Fresh. My husband was quite apprehensive at first (he thought it would be too expensive). We love the fact that each meals ingredients are bagged together and recipes are so easy to follow. I have a hubby who looks forward to that weekly box now!

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Love it! Thanks so much for sharing, Sandy ๐Ÿ™‚

Erin says:

I think you should be able to cross over from one plan to another. Sometimes I like things from the regular plan, and sometimes I would like to throw in a few family plan options.

Meg says:

A couple of gluten-free options each would be really nice. Use potatoes/sweet potatoes for the starch. Occasionally swap the flour tortillas with corn tortillas or swap the couscous with rice. Use recipes with rice noodles. ๐Ÿ™‚

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Noted, Meg! We’ll be sure to pass along these suggestions to our chefs – thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

Nichole says:

Hello! I haven’t tried hellofresh yet! But we want to so bad! The only thing stoping us is we are a 5 member family. And I only see a option for 4. ๐Ÿ˜ž Does that mean we can’t get a plan? I have all growing boys! So 4 portions won’t feed everyone.

Jordan Schultz says:

Hi Nichole– Jordan here from our community team. Unfortunately, we don’t offer plans for more than 4 people, but you can order multiple boxes per week!

I have signed up, but was not given the opportuntity to provide my food allergies and preferences for meals. This is very concerning and dissappointing. I under the impression that that I could select the meals from the options for that week. I need to be able to know the menu one month ahead.

Your app is not very friendly or easy to use. I want to be able to select from the options. Please advise me on how to make this system work,

Thank you

Jacqueline Parisi says:

Hi Lee,

Happy to help! Classic and Family Plan customers can select meal preferences on the app. To do so, click on the settings icon in the top right-hand corner of the “My menu” page. Click on “Menu preferences,” select the preferences you want, and click save. Don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
